Authentic Voices For Change

I recently posted a clip to Facebook highlighting how hard I find it to drop a podcast or write a blog if I don’t have anything to say. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have plenty to say, but if my Spirit isn’t moved to say it, I simply stay silent and observe my thoughts. I want to ensure that when I do speak or share, that I am doing so with purpose and intention. So there is no rhyme or reason to when you can expect new content from me because it is truly Spirit lead and I have no control when it moves me to act.
Before I discuss today’s thought process that I was moved to share, I want to begin this reflection by saying thank you from the depths of my heart to those who have seen fit to sew seed into my mission and my vision. I cannot truly articulate the emotions coursing through my veins. They are…humming. It is a beautiful and spiritual feeling, so I will have to leave it there. Just know that your support—whether you’ve shared my story, contributed to my campaign, or through kind words and simply cheering me on from afar, your support is helping me build a dream rooted in love, light, and authenticity. You all have helped carry me through moments where I doubted whether I could take another step forward. Your generosity isn’t just helping me chase a dream; it’s affirming that this dream is worth pursuing. I am endlessly grateful.
To my first donors: Erin, the dopest neighbor; Chasity, a goddess and one of Jackson, Tennessee’s Premier hair stylist; Drex, of Drex New Music, The answer to Hip Hop; Brandon, a digital energy floating in voice over space who just shared his generosity with me, thank you all so much for your heart. I pray nothing but blessings over you, everything you do, and everything you touch. Thanks for being the first people to plant seed into this campaign. I can’t wait for you all to see me grow.
Now, please take off your shoes and enter my mind palace…
A World of Copy-Paste Lifestyles
We live in a world that often prioritizes conformity. Every day, we scroll through feeds filled with trends, algorithms, and voices that can feel…the same. It’s easy to get lost in the noise, to feel like the only way to succeed is to copy and paste someone else’s journey. But I’m here to tell a different story.
My dream has never been about going viral or blending in. It’s about using my voice—my authentic, imperfect, growing voice—to heal, inspire, and love on the world. I believe there’s a higher purpose to the platforms we’ve built, a deeper way to connect that goes beyond likes, shares, or transactional support.
We live in world shaped by unreal expectations; a digital era where even our identities can be artificially generated. AI technology has gifted us with extraordinary tools, but it’s also given rise to a troubling trend: the creation of unrealistic, often unattainable versions of ourselves. Filters that perfect every flaw, avatars that erase individuality, and curated content that celebrates perfection over humanity are dominating our feeds. We have to question everything for authenticity. Even the news is fake.
For young, impressionable minds, like my little girls, this digital distortion is more than a passing trend. It’s reshaping how they view themselves, their worth, and their place in the world. As they scroll through feeds filled with “perfect” faces, “perfect” bodies, and “perfect” lives, it’s easy to see how self-doubt, poor self-image, and insecurity can take root and stunt confidence.
This is where authentic creators come in and why authenticity matters. I have to fend questions everyday from my 11 year old daughter about her “imperfections” and work tirelessly to reinforce her individuality and why it is important for her to celebrate that; to be comfortable with who she is as she is. It’s hard battling conformity as it is, so I can image how hard that must be for my GenAlpha daughter.
Authentic content is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity. The world desperately needs creators who are willing to show up as themselves—flaws, imperfections, and all. Young people need to see that it’s okay to be real. That their worth isn’t tied to their appearance or an algorithm’s validation. That they are enough, just as they are.
Consumers want to feel valued and not sold; treated like SHEEPeople. They desire real people and real voices influencing their decisions to purchase a product or service. The demand is there but where is the supply?
In a culture that often feels transactional, I dream of a world where we support one another simply because we see something beautiful and worthy in each other. Your support—of me, of any creator you believe in—is a testament to the power of authentic connection.
This is why I’ve dedicated myself to building a platform that’s a refuge from the chaos of conformity. A space where authenticity is celebrated and where people can come to be inspired, uplifted, and reminded of their inherent value.
With your support, I am creating and supplying an oasis of higher-vibrational content. My platform isn’t about selling a dream that no one can touch. It’s about creating a safe space—a place where everyone is welcome to be their true selves, to dream unapologetically, and to heal through genuine connection. This isn’t just about me or my voice-over journey. It’s about using all of my gifts and talents to connect people, to inspire them to see the beauty in themselves and the world. That is my purpose and my mission.
Someone online who became an unknowingly fast mentor to me, the incredible Jesse Carroll, once said: “Waiting only leads to more waiting; start early and ugly.” Those words have stuck with me because they cut through every excuse I’ve ever made about waiting for the “perfect” moment. There is no perfect moment. There’s just this one.
Jesse, a successful voice actor and the creator of The VO Lounge on the Skool app, has built a community that embodies authenticity and support. It’s a space where aspiring voice over actors can grow, learn, and connect without judgment. If you’re considering a journey into voice acting and want to be part of a genuine, helpful community, I highly recommend joining The VO Lounge. Jesse’s wisdom and approach have been a guiding light for me, and I know they can be for you too (Links to his socials and community are below). I cannot recommend this space enough. It is most definitely "Momba Approved" and stamped as truly authentic.
As I continue down this rabbit hole of discovery and growth, I invite you to reflect on your own dreams. What’s stopping you from taking that first step? Are you waiting for the stars to align, for the conditions to feel just right? Are you hesitating because the conditions don’t feel “perfect”? I promise you, perfection is an illusion. Start messy, start small, but most importantly—start. I can’t wait anymore. The time is now for me. I’m chasing my dreams.
And as you reflect, think about the young minds watching us. The next generation needs us to show them what’s possible when we’re real, when we take imperfect steps toward our goals, and when we uplift each other instead of tearing each other down. I’ve made it my mission to be a voice of authenticity in a world of digital perfection. It’s slow motion right now, but all a movement needs is space and opportunity to gain momentum.
On my podcast, Momba Raw and Unfiltered, I share my real life journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between in real time along with authentic stories of others who are transforming their lives. If you were to peruse my social media footprint, you will see that my platform is an honest look at my life and my craft. If I’ve learned anything from this journey, it’s that waiting only delays the inevitable. I’d rather start messy, make mistakes, and learn along the way than never start at all. Growth happens in the doing, not the waiting. Don’t wait.
For those who want to know me better, I invite you to listen to me on my podcast, Momba Raw and Unfiltered, where I share raw reflections and the stories of dope sous in our world who have transformed their pain into purpose and are using their gifts and talents to leave a beautiful mark on our world. You can also follow me on social media, where I share updates, voice-over snippets, and more about this journey.
I humbly ask all reading this to visit my GoFundMe campaign. Read about my vision, share it with your network, and help me continue building this dream. Every share, every dollar, and every word of encouragement makes a difference and brings us closer to making my vision a reality.
This journey is about more than having a career in voice acting. It’s about creating spaces where authenticity thrives. It’s about showing young people—and all people—that they don’t have to conform to the unrealistic expectations the world so often sets.
Together, we can build platforms that aren’t about chasing virality but about making genuine, lasting connections. Let’s support each other because we see something real and worthy in one another—not because we expect something in return. Let’s be the change. Let’s show up, be real, and make a difference—together. Authentically.
Thank you for willingly being here.
Thank you for believing in me.
Thank you for being YOU!
Peace, love, and light💜
