Before coming to education, Ryan Parks started a production company creating music videos and doing freelance filmmaking. He asked himself “why is it so difficult to find good help” and that brought him to the field of education where he hopes to train and inspire the next generation of students to be competitive in the industry. Allowing students to build the skills they need to be successful in the industry builds a student’s ability to enter a field strategically and have a longer career. Students are able to create real world content for industry professionals, building their skills, portfolio and network as they learn. Ryan sees production as a “team sport” and students each have a role and responsibility within their team to create highly produced content through project-based learning. Ryan wants students to know, industry is not out of reach, and they are the future of industry.
