Ashleigh Ewald

Commentator, Community Organizer, Podcaster, Oglethorpe University's 1st East Asian Student Body President

Ashleigh Ewald, of Marietta, Georgia, is a Political Science student at Oglethorpe University, where she currently serves as the Student Body President, representing and championing students' interests. Ashleigh is the 1st person of East Asian heritage to be elected SGA President in the school's history.

Ashleigh is a National Youth Advisor and a Paid Freelance Writer at YR Media (formerly Youth Radio), providing ideas and insights that will strengthen Teach YR Programming and co-create programming. She also serves as the State Director, Georgia Chapter of Voters, coordinating and guiding the Voters of Tomorrow Georgia's chapter to implement initiatives such as hosting voter registration drives on college campuses across the state and supporting members on the board to keep fighting for Gen Z values. She has been published in various outlets, such as Thought Catalog, Collective World, Atlanta Magazine, YR Media, The Daily Free Press, Teen Ink, The Nation, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reflecting on her experiences as an orphan, and being an adopted, resilient, proud American.

Ashleigh has campaigned for, and formed bonds with, candidates seeking office since she was 14 years old. She continues to use her voice and skills to change her community and beyond positively by hosting her podcast, 100% Real with Ashleigh Ewald Talk Show.
