Welcome to the Afro Tales podcast, where we set sail into the rich tapestry of stories from Indigenous and African descent in the Americas and the Caribbean. In this episode we find ourselves in Alabama and your storyteller, Amon Mazingo,  will bring to life the moving tale of Hannah, a young slave girl who uses a quilt map to navigate her and her father’s way to freedom. This heart-wrenching story, set on a southern plantation, reveals the secret codes embedded in quilt patterns that guided many to freedom via the Underground Railroad.
