Neil McKinlay has spent his adult life studying and practicing meditation. He has lead events of 100+ people both in-person and online. He has also been a parent and partner, author and competitive swim coach. In recent years, 'survivor' has been added to Neil's list of roles and accomplishments as he recovers from a relationship with a dysfunctional spiritual mentor.
Neil believes that our lives as they are - hold an inner wisdom that has much to offer us as individuals and more. And meditation can play an important role in our deepening relationship with this wisdom, our deepening relationship with the path we are born to express.
In Neil's Own words:
"I have spent more than twenty-five years immersed in the practice of meditation. This span includes leading events of 100+ people both in-person and online. Through this time, I have also been a parent and partner, a teacher, author and competitive swim coach. In recent years, 'survivor' has been added to this list as I recover from a relationship with a dysfunctional spiritual mentor.
This last piece lends a compelling and affirming sense of story to my discussion of meditation. Talking about what I went through in that relationship, speaking to how I am recovering from this experience, and sharing how all of this is animating my work in remarkable new ways communicates much to listeners. First, that turning toward the difficult in our lives can reveal fresh perspectives and direction to us. Second, that meditation has much to offer our ‘turning toward’ process.
Put another way, all I’ve been through of late suggests that our lives - our lives as they are - hold an inner wisdom that has much to offer us as individuals and more. And meditation can play an important role in our deepening relationship with this wisdom, our deepening relationship with the path we are born to express. In many ways, these revelations now form the core of the story and work I’d like to share with you all"
