Back2Basics is launching the "PinkShoeSisterhood" Series with a great conversation between co-authors of the 'Women in Business- Leading the Way' Book, Leticia Latino and April Davis-Schilland. Through this series, Leticia will interview some of the amazing women business owners and CEO's with whom she has co-authored her first book. The Pink Shoe Sisterhood was born as a result of these amazing women writing a book together and now they have made it one of the purposes to tell their stories as a way to support and motivate other women that are struggling or going through some of the same issues they have faced.
April is the founder and owner of ADS Design Solutions, she is also a co-author on Women in Business Leading the Way. April has done a lot with her design career. She is an experienced interior designer for both commercial and residential buildings with a lifetime of experience of more than 17 years in this industry. She has worked on more than 500 individual projects and has collaboratively designed on projects that exceeded $1.5 billion in construction cost. She has designed and coordinated with projects that involved the construction of Education Facilities, Churches, Universities, Industrial Complexes, Financial Buildings, Athletic Stadiums, and Healthcare Facilities. Because of her excellent services in the designing industry, she was nominated twice for Cambridge Who’s Who among interior designers back in 2007 and 2008. April has the aspiration that she can influence other women to take chances in a male-dominated industry. She believes that women are as powerful and smart as men, and their voices must be heard. Construction is not just a man’s field anymore. She has stated, “I believe it is an honor to represent Women as an Entrepreneur and leader in my field of Design and Construction, where men are the leaders in this area.
