Last week was the anniversary of me being called into the police station in Stamford for questioning because a white girl felt uncomfortable and jumped out of my vehicle, I didn't think much of it at the time. I reported the incident to Uber incase there was any black lash or claims of injury submitted to the insurance company; after a conversation with a friend who's an attorney, I was left with my jaw hanging. Brenda asked "Why did you go into the station with out an attorney?" I said: "I just wanted to get it over with." Why did I say that? In my mind, I figured I didn't do anything wrong so I didn't have anything to hide.
Brenda was sharing her 20 plus years of experience with me and it helped to shape the direction in which I'll take the trailer I submitted to the PRX Google Podcaster Program. Brenda asked if I just want to get through the episodes or do I take the time to do research, edit produce and secure guest for the show, the answer is NO! No, I don't rush through the process. Brenda, said thats exactly why so many people are hemmed up in the legal system today, because they just wanted to get through it.

The launching of my Ko-fi page is me embracing my talents, this is me walking in my purpose, this is me taking the leap, acknowledging that what I'm doing is providing a valuable service for the audience, the guest and the sponsors. BTW Podcast is a business.
I took the leap 4years ago to drive for Uber/Lyft Full-time, so I could have the flexibility to devote to building BTW Podcast. Ko-fi is platform that will allow entrepreneurs/business owners to sponsor an episode PRE, MID or POST roll, it also allows you to buy me a cup of coffee.
