Knowing Your History Is Empowering

Although I was born in Barbados and raised in Brooklyn.  I had no real connection to my birthplace until I visited the county in 1976, that visit changed everything.  It was a father son retreat, it wasn't billed out as such at the time.  Saturday mornings were devoted to spending time with my Dad while he worked side jobs in the neighborhood.  I couldn't wait until it was my turn, because my brother would come home with all sorts of treats.  By the time I was old enough the tradition came to an abrupt halt.  A fellow podcaster (Alex Hobby) from Canada sent me a post about Barbados's intention to remove the Queen as the head of state.  Buckingham Palace said Barbados’s intention to remove the Queen as head of state and become a republic was “a matter for the government and people of Barbados.” Downing Street said: “It’s a decision for Barbados, and we will continue to have an enduring partnership.”   Entrepreneurial spotlight Surf Vs Turf in Bridgeport CT.
