In an unrehearsed introduction for this episode, I said: "You either love her, or hate her, or you love to hate her." In 2019 Latoya was getting dragged through these social media streets, something awful. You would think they were getting paid attack her and the compensation worked was based off likes and vile comments. I mean keyboard warriors were on standby, it was an obsession. I've never been obsessed with an entertainer or a sports figure, I was caught up in an entanglement once, but I'll save that for the book.
My mother was a fat, and my sister who introduced me to running struggled with her weight all her life, so I get it-I was empathic to her plight. I spoke out in her defense, and not as though she needed any to speak up on her behalf. Latoya has a quick wit and fast hands, I think she uses the dictation. I was attacked for voice my opinion on what black excellence was, tearing down a another black person whilst claiming to stand for black excellence is a ridiculous argument.
Oh yeah I haven't mentioned my Ko-fi page. The launching of my Ko-fi page is me embracing my talents, this is me walking in my purpose, this is me taking the leap, acknowledging that what I'm doing is providing a valuable service for the audience, the guest and the sponsors. BTW Podcast is a business.
I took the leap 4years ago to drive for Uber/Lyft Full-time, so I could have the flexibility to devote to building BTW Podcast. Ko-fi is platform that will allow entrepreneurs/business owners to sponsor an episode PRE, MID or POST roll, it also allows you to buy me a cup of coffee.
Thanks for accompanying my on this ride. Leave a voicemail to let us know how we’re doing and receive a shout out in a future episode.
