Old Media Vs. New Media

Old Media Vs. New Media

This episode was inspired by a recent Medium piece I wrote about Entrepreneur, a new song by Pharell and Jay-Z.  Even with all of the positive images in the video some people still managed to focus on supposed drama from years ago between Jay-Z & Nas.  Drama and Trauma sells I guess.  So here's the deal, some people think that Jay-Z intentionally drops music on the same day as Nas.  No one can stop your shine!  As a customer I'm not thinking about if I should get Nas or Jay, if their projects is are bangers I'm getting both.  It's not an either or option.  When we were purchasing CD's, the clerk never stopped you from purchasing a Nas Song because Jay-Z dropped an album, you weren't forced to by a Jay-Z album.

That whole line of thinking comes from a scarcity mentality.  It made me reflect on a few incidents within the podcasting space, I don't owe anyone any explanation about topics I select, who show I may be guest on, who I have on my show or when I release an episode and vice versa.  I want us all to win!

Radio has been around for ages and chances are it will continue to survive, however podcasts are on the rise and continue to evolve.  If you have a voice, a business or something you're passionate about you should have podcast.  If you're an author, entrepreneur an artist or anyone who has a message and you're trying to get that message out into the world you should reach out to a podcast host and get on their show.

If you're tired of a station that doesn't speak to your needs and you're interested in learning more about the BTW Podcast visit RUNUTAINMENT .  Oh yeah I haven't mentioned my Ko-fi page.  The launching of my Ko-fi page is me embracing my talents, this is me walking in my purpose, this is me taking the leap, acknowledging that what I'm doing is providing a valuable service for the audience, the guest and the sponsors.  BTW Podcast is a business.

I took the leap 4years ago to drive for Uber/Lyft Full-time, so I could have the flexibility to devote to building BTW Podcast.  Ko-fi is platform that will allow entrepreneurs/business owners to sponsor an episode PRE, MID or POST roll, it also allows you to buy me a cup of coffee.

Thanks for accompanying my on this ride.  Leave a voicemail to let us know how we’re doing and receive a shout out in a future episode.
