Truly heartbreaking story! I hope Michelle gets the justice she deserves so she can rest in peace and Leo can be exonerated. So many things wrong with the way this case was handled, very sad. Great podcast, amazing hosts.

Captivating and devastating

Hopefully this is a other case where a podcast forces the hand of a deeply corrupt and inept local justice system to correct the misdeeds of long dead DA’s. I will follow the news on this closely!

AMAZING work!

Thank you for putting a spotlight on this case. This is an egregious miscarriage of justice. Leo Schofield deserves justice for himself, and for Michelle. The way this case has been handled is disgusting from top to bottom. I don’t want to feel bad for Jeremy Scott, but when Victoria Avalon questioned him it brought tears to my eyes. No human deserves to be talked to that way. FREE LEO SCHOFIELD!!!

Must listen

I was born and raised in Polk County. I know every location mentioned, but I have never heard this tragic story. This is an excellent podcast and I couldn’t stop listening. #justiceforleo

Emotionally powerful

This is not simply another murder “who done it” crime podcast. It is the story of two men — two men who both seeking justice and redemption in their own ways. I am so appreciative as a listener and a human being that the tellers let us see the humanity behind these two men, and I appreciate Leo … and Jeremy…sharing their stories with all of us. I have not been this emotionally impacted by another podcast in a very long time. Worth every minute spent listening.

Hard to put into words how powerful this podcast is. We should all be telling Leo’s story - and Gilbert King just could not have done a more phenomenal job. Wishing and hoping that justice for Leo and Michelle will come some day. Make this right, Florida!

This podcast is well done and The story is absolutely interesting. my heart breaks for Leo and his family. It is upsetting with all the evidence and the confession that Florida will not do the right thing

Fantastic Podcast

This is an incredibly heartbreaking and complicated story and this podcast does an amazing job telling the story. Investigative journalism at its finest, excellent sound production. The music is also incredible- bravo Leo. Florida is trash and I really hope Leo gets justice.

Absolutely Astounding!

I am beyond impressed with this podcast! Such an amazing and articulate narrator/author/investigator who’s fight for the truth and justice is so inspirational!! It is good knowing that when the system fails you (not saying they always get it wrong but it’s tough for people in authoritative positions to admit when an error was made) that someone…anyone is in your corner seeking the answers. Hoping and praying my state of FL sees the light and frees Leo!! Maybe send this podcast to Ron DeSantis!? He is amazing and for sure would listen!!

Definition of a broken system

This is an excellent podcast. The case highlights a sad fact: the people behind bars aren’t always all bad, and the people behind the law aren’t always all good. I will pray Mr. Schofield is released and fully exonerated. And I will pray Mr. Scott finds peace with the trauma of his childhood and impact of the things he has done.

Amazing

I spend a lot of my time in the car driving listening to podcasts. This podcast by far is one of the best I’ve heard hopefully the state of Florida sees it the right way and frees this man.

Highly recommend

The story is great but it also hurts your heart another wrongful conviction with dirty sheriffs from Florida dirty prosecutors and the review boards sit in judgment of a man wrongfully convicted with no physical proof.Everyone responsible for preventing this case to be heard again should be tarred and feathered wait until their time comes and they are judged by GodFor this crime

I’ve listened to a lot of True Crime podcasts, and this is definitely one of the best. It is engaging and well told and does a great job honoring the victim and representing everyone involved. Greatly helped by the hosts’ investment in the case, you feel the emotions alongside them - hope, anger, sadness. Thank you for shining a light on this case!
