This book is one of the later renown works of Carl R. Rogers, the master of humanism, and it’s his best-selling publication. This book consolidates and summarizes the concepts and methods behind counseling and psychotherapy. It puts forward the unique concept of “person-centered” psychotherapy, which has significantly influenced the field of psychology, education, management, and politics. Rogers believes that when given the proper psychological atmosphere, people generate creativity and positivity, making individuals capable of obtaining growth using their own inner strength.

The author of this book is Carl R. Rogers, an American psychologist. As the founder of humanistic psychology, he is also known as "the father of humanistic psychology." Rogers pioneered the concepts and techniques behind counseling and psychotherapy, such as "the person-centered approach" and "unconditional positive regard," which emphasized that people are already equipped with the tools to promote personal growth. In 1947, Rogers was selected as the president of the American Psychological Association (APA), and in 1956, was awarded the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award by the APA.
