The author Stefan Zweig was a famous Austrian novelist and biographer. He has been hailed as one of the most celebrated biographers in history. Zweig was born into a wealthy Jewish family. He traveled around the world when he was young and met famous authors such as Romain Rolland and Rodin, who greatly influenced his literary creations. At the age of 17, he began to publish his literary works. He is known for among others, 24 hours in the Life of a Woman and Letter from an Unknown Woman and Three Masters. During WWII, Zweig and his wife crossed the Atlantic to evade the Naz. However, finding their life of exile too unbearable, he and his wife took their own lives with poison before the end of World War II.
