Andre Agassi was an American professional tennis player who won 60 tournaments over the course of his career, including 8 Grand Slam titles. His career was capped by his epic victory at the French Open in 1999. That made him the first male Career Golden Slam winner in tennis history. Agassi retired after the 2006 US Open, ending an illustrious 21-year run. The book is an honest, striking, and highly insightful biography of Agassi, a player and a man who challenged himself and conquered many of life's, as well as sport’s, perplexities and confusions.
The book is a collaboration between Andre Agassi and American journalist and writer J.R. Moehringer. Nonetheless, Moehringer insisted that the book belonged only to Agassi and his stories, his people and his battles. Under the literary guidance of Pulitzer Prize winner Moehringer, Agassi's tumultuous life story was hailed as “the most revealing, literate, and toes-stompingly honest sports autobiography in history.”
