At least a third of the people around the world are introverts. In a culture that prefers extroversion, introversion is regarded as an inferior personality trait. By introducing many studies from leading psychologists in the United States, the author of this book explains the traits and strengths of introverts to show how introverted people are undervalued and how they should make use of their strengths.

The author, Susan Cain, graduated from Harvard Law School and Princeton University. She worked as a Wall Street lawyer and teaches negotiation and communication skills now. She often publishes articles on introversion, shyness, and other topics in mainstream media such as The New York Times and Psychology Today. She also gave a U.S. TED talk with the topic of “The Power of Introverts.”
