Every parent wants to give their kids a head start in life, so they create a busy schedule for them every day and enroll them in all kinds of enrichment courses and activities. However, research shows that children in more developed regions are more likely to suffer from the side effects of modern society. They often exhibit attention deficits, behavioral disorders, and psychological issues. Contrary to common belief, many well-meaning parental efforts at improvement can disrupt the innocence of childhood. This book advocates “simplicity parenting” and offers easy and practical tips that parents can follow to protect their kids’ true natures.
This book was co-written by Kim John Payne and Lisa M. Ross. Payne is a consultant and trainer to over 60 U.S. private and public schools. He’s been a school counselor, adult educator, and consultant for nearly 30 years and a private family counselor for more than 15 years. Payne is a strong advocate of using Waldorf education, which emphasizes imagination and development of the whole child, to solve children’s attention deficits. Ross has been involved in the publishing industry for over 20 years. She used to be an editor and literary agent and now works exclusively as a writer.
