Dr. Sears combines his almost forty years of clinical practice as a paediatrician, his experience raising eight children with his wife, Martha, and development psychology’s “attachment theory” to put together “attachment parenting”. The book introduces the knowledge necessary to raise 0-2 year-old infants, and explains “attachment parenting,” that is, raising children in a loving environment. It tells parents how to meet their children’s needs while simultaneously feeling relaxed themselves.
The authors are William Sears, his wife and their two children. William Sears is one of the most famous pediatricians in the United States. He trained at Harvard Medical School’s Children’s Hospital, has written more than forty best-selling books on pregnancy and is a consultant on parenting for many magazines. Their two sons Robert W. Sears and James M. Sears have also been involved in child care research.
