The Book of Forgiving: The Fourfold Path for Healing Ourselves and Our World is another great work by the renowned South African Archbishop Desmond M. Tutu. It follows his book No Future Without Forgiveness, which was highly recommended by Nelson Mandela, the founding father of South Africa. In the face of the harm caused by apartheid and the pain of losing family members, how can we heal our inner wounds? Revenge and grudges won’t help us, but will only trap us in our suffering. Only forgiveness will lead to the emancipation of our soul. This book is a practical guide to healing ourselves and the world.

This book was written by South African Archbishop Desmond M. Tutu and his daughter Mpho A. Tutu. When the Republic of South Africa was founded, Desmond Tutu proposed the concept of the “rainbow nation,” seeking to make his beautiful country a place where people with diverse racial backgrounds could live together like a rainbow. Desmond M. Tutu has seen and experienced all kinds of suffering and consequently realized that forgiveness is the only way to achieve real freedom. This book was recommended by Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama. Archbishop Desmond Tutu was also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984. Mpho A. Tutu is an experienced missionary, who also teaches and writes. Due to the influence of her father, Mpho Tutu has always been interested in exploring the path to forgiveness, and even wrote her Ph.D. thesis on it.
