Have you ever considered where you would place the most value in your life, if you learned that your life journey was coming to an end? If you haven’t, maybe you can find inspiration from Randy Pausch’s ideas. He was a renowned university professor in the field of computer science, a father, and someone who had pancreatic cancer. He was invited to give a lecture at Carnegie Mellon University, in which he shared his unique experiences on how his dreams had shaped his life.
Randy Pausch worked as a professor in the Department of Computer Science first at the University of Virginia and later at Carnegie Mellon University. He made extraordinary achievements in the field of human-computer interaction and virtual reality and was the author or co-author of five books and over sixty journal articles. He was the leader of the Alice project, a teaching tool. He also co-founded CMU’s Entertainment Technology Center. Besides a successful career, Pausch also had a very happy family. Unfortunately, while his life seemed perfect, he died of complications from pancreatic cancer.
