This book summarizes the path of American economic growth from an economic and sociological perspective, between 1870 and 2015. We will look at the glory of “the Special Century,” the miracle of “the Great Leap,” and the decelerated growth during “the Computer Age.” This book provides both a detailed historical account as well as an in-depth economic and sociological analysis. It pays tribute to civilization’s progress over the past 100 years, and at the same time, predicts future difficulties. It is a remarkable chronicle of a century of American economic growth.
