The Story of My Life is the autobiography of Helen Keller. Helen Keller’s life spanned 88 years, but she spent 87 of those years without vision, hearing, or speech. Nevertheless, for a person who lived her life in a dark world, she was still able to overcome the obstacles and disadvantages of her disability. She did this by successfully graduating from Radcliffe College at Harvard University, building a charitable organization to help the disabled, and being selected by Time Magazine as one of the top ten American heroes and icons of the 20th century.

Helen Keller was a famous female American author, educator, philanthropist, and social activist. She lost her eyesight and hearing at the age of one due to an unknown illness, possibly rubella or scarlet fever. At 20 years of age, she entered the Radcliffe College for Women at Harvard University. She completed 14 publications in succession, the most famous of which include The Story of My Life and an essay titled Three Days to See. In 1964, she was awarded the “Presidential Medal of Freedom.”
