She is the founder and director of the Thirty Million Words Initiative at the University of Chicago Medical School. She received the University of Chicago Medical Faculty Award for being a “Distinguished Leader in Program Innovation,” and is one of the sponsors of the White House initiative to create a pathway to ending the achievement gap. Beth Suskind and Leslie Lewinter-Suskind are also co-authors of this book.
