In most cultures, maternal love is great, selfless, and sacred, in which any statement that placed doubts on maternal love is seen as unforgivable. But the increasing number of emotionally wounded children has led scholars to revisit this perspective of maternal love from a psychological perspective and explore why it can also hurt people. “Will I Ever Be Good Enough” is a book that explores the complicated mother-daughter bond. It guides people to reinvent themselves and regain initiative in their lives. This is not, of course, a book about condemnation, but about healing.
The author of this book, Karyl McBride, with a Ph.D. in Psychology, is an American licensed marriage and family therapist. She specializes in research on the effects of narcissistic parents on their children and has successfully resolved many cases on this subject. She has extensive clinical experience in the fields of trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, divorce, step family therapy, and marital and family therapy. This book is the result of her own self-healing journey and was completed with the support of her mother.
