Lara, our Berkshire Sow, farrowed naturally (without the use of cages or crates) giving birth to 8 Baby Piglets. She has been an excellent mother, never hurting any of them in any way. While two have gone elsewhere, six of the eight are still with their Mother three months later. I believe their staying with her, being naturally born, naturally weaned, and naturally raised has led to them being incredible piglets. It is reflected in their size, condition, and length. Surprising length, especially considering their father, Eugene, was a Mangalica (also Mangalitsa or Mangalitza) a Hungarian breed of pig.
