Walking Our Garden In A Heatwave

It’s 29 June 2021, and We’re Walking Our Garden In A Heatwave! Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow and possibly beyond that the temperatures are climbing into the 30s, or near 90 F. Considering the average Summer Highs typically range from 57 °F to 77 °F, starting the summer in the near 90s is brutal. So, it means we water our animals at least three times a day and check on them at least four to five times. In the morning when we do our chores we try to leave buckets of water out there so we don’t have to lug them during the heat of the day. Although we do all of this there are times animals may still suffer. Thankfully we don’t have any that way today! As for Gardens, they become a balancing act, we want to conserve our water, just incase. Although we have a drilled well and it should be fine, one never quite knows. So, we try to balance water conservation with proper garden watering, and constantly praying for more rain! It’s not a good idea to water in the heat of the day, and it’s not a good idea to water lightly. It’s best to do a watering in the evening that is sufficient for the day, or days, between watering. Thankfully, most plants can withstand a certain amount of drought. Let’s hope this Summer is a good mix of comfortable sunshine, nice breezes, and sufficient rainfall.
