7-05 CC EDITION

Dear Carolina Catholic Media Family,

I pray that everyone is managing the heat and is enjoying the Independence Day Holiday with family and friends.

In this week’s edition we feature stories on:

July, the month we dedicate to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ

The Vatican Excommunication of Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò for Schism

An OpEd from Michael Warsaw asking “Has Joe Read Roe?”  The president’s bad debate night can’t excuse the misleading statements

he made about U.S. abortion law.

The Diocese of Charlotte’s Catholic Family Day at Carowinds

Movie News Updates on “Sound of Hope” and what we can expect from seasons 5-7 of “The Chosen”.

You’ll also find our regular sections on Prayer, Learning and Calendar of Events.  If you have an upcoming event to include please email to my address below.

Regarding the future of Carolina Catholic Radio in Charlotte… We are in discussions with a Catholic Radio company about the purchase of WCGC-AM1270 Belmont.

Please keep us in your prayers and help us with a tax deductible donation as our 7 platform costs continue to mount even with the radio station being off the air.

Our goal is to evolve the Carolina Catholic Media Apostolate into the Multi-Media Voice of the Carolinas serving the Charlotte, Raleigh and Charleston Dioceses. With your prayers, content input and financial support we will achieve our goal!  Thank you.

Peace and all good!

Catholic Grandparents Association is coming to Charlotte!

Back in the pandemic summer of 2020 while preparing for our virtual Eucharistic Congress broadcast and live stream event from SJCS, we looked for ministries that were underserved in the Carolinas.  One of the most important discoveries was the Catholic Grandparents Association.

Since that time we have included CGA in all of our major events.  In 2023 I inquired about Carolina Catholic sponsoring a local chapter.  Unfortunately their “Vatican-approved” charter does not allow for media companies to sponsor local chapters.

As I promoted this vision in our newsletters and personal appearances, two women stepped forward to take the reigns and make our dream a reality.  Beginning next month under the leadership of Teresa Sanctis (St.Ann’s) and Kathy Consler (St.Matt’s) the first local CGA event will take place next month.  You’ll find all the details below.

We look forward to helping launch this vitally important family ministry to assist our Grandparents in passing on the Catholic Faith to our Grandchildren’s generation.
