Letter from the Chairman

Hello Carolina Catholic Family,

As we close out the month of July and prepare for the Eucharistic Congress (August 5,6), we are busy finalizing plans to expand our local program lineup after Labor Day.  This is a direct result of many participants, from our Sacred Heart Share-A-Thon, who want to provide an ongoing voice for their ministries.

The first new program to announce will be an ongoing RESPECT LIFE series under the direction of Dr. Matthew Harrison, Medical Advisor - Priests for Life.  Dr. Harrison was instrumental in gathering a number of guests to speak during the Share-A-Thon.

You can watch/listen to all "Respect Life" episodes here.

When asked about his desire to oversee RESPECT LIFE programming on Carolina Catholic Media, Dr. Harrison said  "The Charlotte Diocese has become a focal point in the Southeast for Life issues as surrounding states have heavier restrictions on abortion and the Charlotte clinics are the busiest in this area of the country. We have an opportunity and an obligation to fight for life from conception to natural death. I look forward to working with local and National leaders from the sidewalks to the legislative committee meetings to end this war on the family and on life!”  We welcome Dr. Harrison's Voice of Experience to our apostolate!  Respect Life program specifics will be announced soon!

If you are just becoming aware of our Carolina Catholic Media apostolate (now in its 4th year), our Share-A-Thon provides you with a clear example of the scope and magnitude of media coverage we are committed to provide across our 7 media platforms.  Anyone who takes a closer look at this apostolate can feel the Holy Spirit at work.  We believe in and are committed to build a stronger, better informed, more unified Catholic Community in the Diocese of Charlotte and across the Carolinas.  I encourage you to send me your feedback on programs of interest to you.  Your voice is critical to this process.

On the business side of our 501c3 apostolate, we have an urgent need to raise $15,000 in monthly pledges to keep our 7 Audio and Video platforms operating and growing to meet the needs of our vibrant Carolina Catholic Community.  With media consumption so different from the past, we believe this is the most efficient and effective way to reach and engage the estimated half million souls with a Catholic connection in each of the dioceses from Charlotte to Raleigh to Charleston.

If you believe in the value of having a local Catholic Media Voice that provides timely perspective on the issues of the day, based on the Truth of Jesus Christ and our Catholic Faith, then please prayerfully consider finding a place for us in your monthly budget between your TV, internet and phone bills.
