Infertility is a heavy burden most couples don’t expect to carry. It can affect your marriage, your relationship with family and friends, and your relationship with God. Infertility often feels like a long and lonely path. But you are not alone. Wherever you are on the path of infertility, or in the experience of pregnancy loss, there is a community here, built on faith in Christ and His good plan of fruitfulness for each one of us.
ABOUT THE RETREAT
St. Gabriel Catholic Church and Springs in the Desert are grateful to partner in supporting couples carrying the cross of infertility. Come with your spouse or on your own to be supported, hear inspiring reflections from the Springs in the Desert team, receive practical suggestions for strengthening your relationship with God and your spouse, and experience friendship with others on this same path. The retreat will include time for prayer in Adoration and an opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and attend the Vigil Mass. It is an honor to walk with you.

ABOUT SPRINGS IN THE DESERT
Firmly rooted in the anthropology, ethics and spirituality of the Catholic Church, and our shared experiences of infertility, Springs in the Desert affirms the goodness of marriage, upholds the giftedness of the child, and advocates for a broader understanding of what it means to be life-giving. By keeping our focus on Christ, not on conception, we give witness to His Divine love and mercy and the goodness of His plan for our lives.

Saint Ann Latin Mass Ministry
Dear friends in Christ,
Today September 14 is the feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which marks the discovery of the True Cross in Jerusalem by St. Helena in 326 A.D., the dedication of the great basilica of the Holy Sepulchre built by Constantine in 335 A.D., and the restoration of the True Cross to Jerusalem in 629 A.D. after its seizure by the Persians.
Today also marks the 16th anniversary of the implementation of Summorum Pontificum, Pope Benedict XVI's 2007 Motu Proprio, which liberalized access to the Traditional Latin Mass - including here in the Diocese of Charlotte.
Promoting the Latin Mass at St. Ann Parish
On this feast day, we also wanted to share that, with Fr. Reid's blessing, a ministry is forming at St. Ann that will promote the Traditional Latin Mass and parish related events, in the Diocese of Charlotte.
This future group's name, mission, and scope will be announced soon.
As the future group forms, we intend to periodically send out updates about Traditional Latin Masses at St. Ann, in the diocese, and other related events.
Many have inquired about whether a Latin Mass e-newsletter will also be developed that will contain devotional and educational information surrounding the Traditional Mass. The answer is yes. We ask our readers bear with us as a future e-mail format is developed.
Should one have any questions, please contact us at saintannlatinmass@gmail.com

Office of Family Life - Diocese of CharlotteWhen you look deeper at Natural Family Planning (NFP) Awareness, perhaps you are wondering why the Church prohibits contraception and encourages NFP instead. It comes down to the dignity we have being made male and female in God's image and the call for a married couple to be a truthful sign of God's love in the marital act. The best preaching I've heard on the topic is from Fr. Patrick Schultz on his podcast Slaking Thirsts. Do yourself a favor and subscribe to the podcast!
