DONATE NOWWe are still in need of $10,000 to meet our immediate financial obligations through June 30. As a result of this shortfall we must seriously consider turning off Charlotte's 1st Catholic Radio station, AM1270 WCGC, for the summer or perhaps the rest of the year. In the meantime, we have slashed our operating budget from $15,000 to $5,000 per month to operate within revenue received from donations and program underwriting. This 66% expense reduction severely limits our capabilities to provide you with the vast array of timely Catholic content you have become accustomed to receiving across our 7 media platforms. Please do what you can financially and by spreading the word to help keep true Catholic content available on-air, on-line and on-demand! Thank you and God Bless!

One on One with Fr. Peter AscikIn this episode of Carolina Catholic Showcase, Elizabeth Harris, Pro-Life Correspondent, captures the mission of the Office of Family Life in the Diocese of Charlotte through its Director Fr. Peter Ascik, who also serves as Pastor of St. Mary, Help of Christians and Christ the King Catholic Mission. During the candid conversation, Elizabeth simultaneously elicits the essence of the heart of Fr. Peter and his honorable call from a very young age to affirm all human life from fertilization to natural death. The interview beckons us to approach the pro-life movement through a compassionate lens, drawing the listener closer to the merciful heart of Jesus through his Holy Mother, and how to get engaged in advocacy to authentically live the Gospel of Life. I feel inspired, educated, informed and encouraged to go out and do what I can. Thank you, Fr. Ascik!

FAITH AND SPORT with Dr. John AcquavivaFaith & Sport: Our goal is to bring an everyday sports-talk show to Catholics and Catholic-radio listeners, but with character, morality, and ethics regularly weaved into the conversation.
Why our Faith is important in Sport: In 2004, Pope John Paul II instituted the Office of Church and Sport to fully recognize the significance of athletics in our culture. The pope intended that athletes, fans, parents, coaches, and sport administrators call upon their Catholic faith to guide actions and words in athletic competition, regardless of our method of participation. All Episodes available Here!WATCH NOW

Human Trafficking Awareness

We pray for the families who have to sell their children to be able to eat, and for those who are tricked into sending their children with traffickers with the promise of an education and better life. Look at this newscast to learn how a drought can force families into desperation: bit.ly/43NNRCY #WisdomWednesday #EndHumanTrafficking #EndWorldHunger
Choose Fair or Ethical Trade, not Child Labor Global estimates from the International Labor Organization (ILO) indicate that 160 million children between 5-17 years old were engaged in child labor in 2021… we must take action to stop this. Choosing to buy ‘Ethically’ means taking better care of the most vulnerable in the world, our brothers and sisters, and the environment. When consumers choose ‘fair trade’ or ‘ethically sourced products’, they create demand for products that do not involve child labor, harsh conditions and unfair wages that contribute to poverty, and instead support the workers while providing safe, humane and sustainable employment. Read labels, ask questions, find out how your favorite goods and products are made and demand justice and dignity for all those that work behind the label. Learn more about labor trafficking in this module provided by the US Catholic Sisters Against Human Trafficking: https://www.sistersagainsttrafficking.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/USCSAHT-HT-and-Children-module.pdfAlso in Spanish: También en español: https://www.sistersagainsttrafficking.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/USCSAHT-HT-and-Children-module.pdf
