Healed and Restored Transforming Young Women's Lives: One Heart at a TimeAugust Newsletter
Dear Friends of Healed and Restored, Welcome to August. By now, most of you have probably watched the movie "Sound of Freedom". The true story behind this heartbreaking movie sheds light on the horror of the atrocities being done to God’s children. Pope Francis had this to say about the modern crisis of human trafficking:“ Human trafficking is violence! The violence suffered by every woman and every girl is an open wound in the body of Christ, in the body of humanity, it is a deep wound that also affects each of us.” Healed and Restored was created with victims of human trafficking in mind. We want to show those young women that no matter what they have gone through, God desires to heal them. We are offering them tools that help them understand that our past doesn’t define us. What defines us is God's unending love for us. God the Father loves each of us so much that he sent his only son to die an awful death on the cross for crimes he didn’t commit. All of this was done to show us how much we are loved... Read More

Happy Feast Day! TRANSFIGURATION OF THE LORD August 6, 2023 “And He was transfigured before them and His face shone like the sun and his clothes became dazzling white. Appearing with Jesus were Moses and Elijah, talking with him. “THIS IS MY SON, THE BELOVED; WITH HIM I AM WELL PLEASED, LISTEN TO HIM!”” —Matthew 17:2-5 "At His Transfiguration, Christ showed His disciples the splendor of His beauty, to which He will shape and color those who are His: 'He will reform our lowness configured to the body of His glory.'" —Saint Thomas Aquinas ALMIGHTY FATHER, Who in the glorious Transfiguration of Your Only Begotten Son, JESUS CHRIST, confirmed the mysteries of faith by the witness of the Fathers and wonderfully prefigured our full adoption to sonship, grant, we pray, to Your servants, that, listening to the Voice of Your beloved SON, we may merit to become co-heirs with Him. Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

Office of Family Life - Diocese of Charlotte With Natural Family Planning (NFP) Awareness week last week, perhaps you are wondering why the Church prohibits contraception and encourages NFP instead. It comes down to the dignity we have being made male and female in God's image and the call for a married couple to be a truthful sign of God's love in the marital act. The best preaching I've heard on the topic is from Fr. Patrick Schultz on his podcast Slaking Thirsts. Do yourself a favor and subscribe to the podcast! THE RESCUE PROJECT
For I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. - Romans 1:16
The Rescue Project is a global movement that launched in 2022. It flows from the conviction that the most urgent task in the Church is a compelling and attractive proclamation of the gospel. Its aim is threefold: that people might be 1) overwhelmed by the good news of what God has done for us, 2) moved to surrender their lives to Jesus in faith, and, 3) mobilized for mission.
The Rescue Project is a multi-week video experience of the gospel and is designed to be offered in a small group format everywhere and anywhere - in parishes, homes, schools, college campuses, seminaries, workplaces, prisons and beyond.
