Happy New Year from all of us at Cinemavino! Here's to the hope that 2022 will improve on 2021's dire situation. On the movie front, only a few movies take place on or around NYE, but we've found a bona fide 90s classic: Sleepless in Seattle. This Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan rom-com was a huge hit back in 1993. Personally, I haven't seen it since the days of VHS, so this watch was...illuminating.
I'll be blunt: This movie did not age well, and it was great to hear the other guys independently agree with me. In fact, Seattle holds up as poorly as anything we've screen so far for this podcast.
For this week's vino, we drink a little Bow and Arrow Pinot Noir, as it jives with our upcoming Hawkeye podcast. We also down some Ercole Bianco from Italy. It's a delicious, easy-drinking white that comes in a convenient, budget-minded 1.0L size. I haven't featured a white from Italy all year, so this is just a case of better late than never. Now, enjoy another fine episode of Cinemavino. After Hawkeye, we'll kick off another fine run of under-watched movies.
