In this episode I am talking with Dr. Laura Markham. Dr. Laura is a clinical psychologist, a mother, an author or multiple books on peaceful parenting, and she has worked for decades as a parenting coach with families across the world.
I have been a longtime fan of her newsletter, and whenever I have a parenting question, her website, AhaParenting is my go-to-resource. Raising children is a huge responsibility, and with it we parents often feel the weight of the world upon our shoulders as we try to raise kind, compassionate, honest and good human beings.
I’m confident that most parents would agree the last 9+ months have been tough. Even the most well rested, resourced and zen parents have been challenged by the Global pandemic. In reaching out to Dr. Laura I thought that of all the parenting topics we could discuss, parenting during the pandemic was at the top of the list.
Today Dr. Laura and I are talking about the challenges parents are facing such as increased screen time, isolation, anxiety and others. In this conversation, Dr. Laura will share ways that we can all be more present, more connected and more peaceful with our children, no matter what their age.
