Sometimes you can do all the things to protect your health; sleeping well, exercising, eating a health diet using safer products, and you still get sick, you still get cancer. That is the story of today’s guest, Eliza Caplan. While cancer is a part of Eliza’s story, it is not what defines her.

Eliza is a passionate educator and advocate for clean living. She has spent the majority of her adult life making choices that are not only healthier for her but also for the health of animals and the planet. In June of this year, Eliza was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, and in this episode she is sharing her journey.

Whether you're at a crossroads in your own health journey, supporting a loved one through cancer or another disease, or even someone who is questioning the importance of making safer choices altogether,  this conversation will inspire you to believe that these small choices and actions do in fact matter. That you do have control of your life and your health, even when you think you don’t.

About Eliza

From a young age, Eliza Caplan was drawn to nature and her passion for animals. She connected with the most vulnerable and ones who couldn’t speak out for themselves. After having children, she stayed home to care for them but continued her work for people, animals and the planet through different actions. As she learned more about health and planet, she transitioned her family to a more plant-based diet and even vegan for a period of time. In 2016, she went back to work. In order for her to spend time on it, it had to have a great mission. After being introduced to Beautycounter through a friend she joined the mission to help share things she hadn’t previously known. Her business and social action work grew. In 2021, she and her husband moved their family of 5 from Chicago, where they had always lived, to Scottsdale AZ. They were in search of warmer weather, something new, and having the mountains a bit closer to them. In 2023, she was shocked to learn from an MRI that she had a brain tumor. Since then she has undergone a craniotomy with tumor resection, radiation and chemotherapy. In her journey, she has looked deeper into the cause and ways to heal more holistically than just the standard of care. She enjoys sharing what she has learned along the way in the effort to change someone else’s life for the better.
