Competition can show a person's true character. Whether on the field, track, or court, competition can be what drives an athlete to success and can push everyone to do things they never imagined would be possible. In this episode, University of Florida track and cross country runner Nick Deal joins the podcast to discuss this concept of competition and how his experiences as a Gator have helped his faith. While working with Athletes in Action, Nick has been able to grow in his faith at Florida each year, and has become a better athlete because of that.
Nick and Ken dive into what it means to practically 'compete for Christ' and how as Christian athletes, we should always give the glory to God and not ourselves. Competition can be used as a way to do this, but we must have the right mindset and drive. This episode goes into deep conversation about how to do this and how to become freer as we participate in the sports we love.
