Servant leadership is defined as, "a leadership philosophy in which the goal of the leader is to serve. This is different from traditional leadership where the leader's main focus is the thriving of their company or organization."
As followers of Jesus that love to play sports, we are called to not only serve Christ, but serve our teammates, our coaches, our opponents, and pretty much anyone we come in contact with. We must be different kinds of leaders.
That is why TODAY, professional soccer player Jonathan Ricketts comes on the show to discuss what it means to be a servant leader! Jonathan has played with teams like Chattanooga FC, the Chattanooga Red Wolves, and is currently on Rio Grande Valley FC. As a Christian professional athlete, he has been able to use his platform to glorify God and has worked hard to get to where he is today.
