From a dream conceived to a life lived, Paul Varian is a clear case of following a passion and making a career out of it! When he was a kid, Paul told his folks that he wanted to grow up to catch fish--and, catch fish he does!
Splitting time between spear fishing and guiding reef tours during down times, Paul has figured out how to make his dream a reality.
He gets to spend every day in the salt and sun if the sea--catching every range of Florida fish. And, some of his catches are truly hell. Let's face it, some fish can be pretty badass, and when in the water, we're in their territory. Couple that with a water pressure environment our squishy human bodies weren't built for, and you have a recipe for potential disaster.
The Weather Channel capitalized on the high-seas drama of spear fishing last year with Catching Hell--and, Paul was cast as a star! Though a second season is currently on hold, watch out for any announcements on Facebook or WeatherChannel.com! (You can also find old episodes on Ora TV!)
