Keeping Kids Safe: Kicks App

Keeping Kids Safe: Kicks App

As parents, we want to make sure our children are safe and secure. But with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it can be difficult to keep track of our kids and make sure they are getting to where they need to be. That's why Steve and Tabatha Barron are discussing the importance of having software to keep kids safe and prevent them from getting lost or put on the wrong bus.

Tabatha's app, Kicks, helps parents keep track of their children's whereabouts and sends a text message to the parent if their child is put on the wrong bus. The app works with walkers, bikers, childcare bus riders, car riders, and yellow bus riders, and also allows parents to make dismissal changes and order replacement badges.

The software helps reduce stress for parents and provides a point of accountability for bus drivers and dismissal teams. Tabatha has seen the success of the software first-hand, as one of the principals who used it was promoted and named teacher of the year.

Tabatha recommends that parents contact the assistant superintendent of the district or the elementary school principal to discuss the software. She also emphasizes the importance of parenting the child one has, not the child one wants, and the need for schools to use the software to keep kids safe.

The software can be used for childcare transportation, elementary school campuses, after-school programs, and extracurricular field trips. It is designed to be efficient and cost-effective and can be used to communicate with parents in the case of an emergency. It can also be used to ensure that no child is left behind on a field trip.

The software prevents children from getting off the bus at the wrong stop and requires an adult to confirm that the child is allowed to get off the bus. This is especially important, as one of the biggest issues with children missing the bus is the bus driver letting the children off at the wrong stop. With 900 students, 15 of them being in the front office at the end of the day because they missed the bus, this software can help streamline the dismissal process and reduce chaos.

The software helps identify mistakes immediately, rather than an hour or ten minutes later. It also helps to prevent the heartbreaking and tragic situation of children getting killed or lost, as the highest amount of money paid out to a family for loss of life due to a child being sent home on the wrong bus was close to $24 million.

Kicks was started in 2014 after Tabitha's niece was put on the wrong school bus twice as a five year old. Tabitha's niece was unable to advocate for herself and the school would not provide contact information. Kicks is a platform that allows each child to effectively communicate their way home.

This episode provides an important reminder of the need to nurture children and provide them with the support they need to achieve their dreams. Parents should parent the child they have, not the child they want. It is important to nurture the individual and not choke their dreams. Parents should provide support to their children to help them achieve their dreams.

Steve encourages the audience to reach out to Tabatha to learn more about the software and to encourage schools to use the software to keep kids safe. Doing so can help reduce the stress of parents and provide a safe and secure environment for children.
