Tim qualified as a Solicitor in 1987 originally working in London’s West End. He had earlier spent 4 years in the music industry releasing 7 independent dance records and doing various production and session work. Having dismally failed in an attempt at pop stardom he then returned to law, moving to Salisbury in 1996. He went into partnership with Tim Bonallack and the law firm changed its name from Bonallacks to Bonallack & Bishop. Since then Tim, as the firm’s owner and only equity partner, has spearheaded the expansion of the firm, seeing it grow by well over 1500%.
In October 2007 Tim gave up running a legal caseload to concentrate full-time on business development including developing a new niche practice area in advising on the sale, merger and acquisition of law firms. He has been responsible for the firm’s take over of 6 law firms in Salisbury, Andover and Fordingbridge, the development of over 20 separate specialist web sites and the development of a series of specialist niche areas of practice for clients locally, regionally, nationwide and overseas – most recently for property investors.
He plays a particular role in marketing and is responsible for major and strategic decisions and now sees himself as an entrepreneur who owns a law firm. Tim has firm plans for continued expansion of the firm in the next ten years.
In addition to owning Bonallack & Bishop, Tim is developing a residential property portfolio – as a director of Eastgate Property Development Ltd, a property development and investment company specialising in commercial to residential conversions, Woodhenge Limited, a co-living product company and in 2021 has just set up a family SSAS pension (small self-administered scheme) to invest in commercial property. Tim is also a regular speaker in the property community with around 50 zoom talks under his belt since coronavirus it. And you can see him every month as 1 of the panellists on the popular monthly Ask The Property Expert live Zoom Q&A.
