Murdaugh episode 21

I could hardly listen to Murdaugh answer the prosecution’s questions. Does he ever answer with a simple yes or no? He tries so hard to make himself look sorry for doing wrong, by not answering the questions. But it only makes him look even more guilty. Is he that stupid? How did Murdaugh pass the bar exam?
