I am a 3x cancer survivor turned cancer survivorship coach. I am the founder of my signature 13 week survivorship program, A Happier Healthier You. Author. Dog mom to Lily.

I would like to lead a discussion on the challenges of surviving cancer. It’s rarely talked about the fact that so many are depressed, anxious and afraid. There needs to be an open dialogue so others understand they are not alone. Once they realize that their feelings are valid, that can enable and start the healing journey. Feeling alone in your feelings is harder than treatment which leads to depression and isolation. It needs to be talked about that reality rarely meets the expectations of surviving.

The expectations vs the reality of surviving. How yes we are grateful to be alive AND yet we still have a lot of challenges to navigate. There’s little discussion about it. We often feel shame because we aren’t just happy. This needs to be an open dialogue to heal. Knowing that you aren’t alone is huge. It’s rarely discussed yet often felt. The strong humans we are to get through yet we feel anything but strong after.
