In this episode of the Futurized podcast, host Trond Arne Undheim interviews Jason Paragas, CEO and founder of the startup DVLP about the prospect of blockchain-based drug development.
They discuss Paragas's work on digitizing biotech, making drug development more effective, and securing its use for the common good. His main point is that although drug development has been optimized for discovery, and is getting even better through AI, we have not optimized neither on clinical trials nor on manufacturing. We might not be able to speed up biology, but we can definitely speed up institutional quality control processes. This is especially relevant as drug development moves from mass production to mass customization.
Futurized goes beneath the trends to track the underlying forces of disruption in tech, policy, business models, social dynamics and the environment.
