Author Nathalie Nahai guests the Futurized podcast, hosted by futurist Trond Arne Undheim. In this conversation, they discuss her new book Business Unusual: Values, Uncertainty and the Psychology of Brand Resilience which is about consumer trends and digital interactions. They also get into whether art still has transformative powers.
Futurized goes beneath the trends to track the underlying forces of disruption in tech, policy, business models, social dynamics and the environment.
Trond's takeaway: Big tech and its products and solutions are so purpose-driven that it threatens to stifle our creativity. We need to consider the future of creative boredom to counter this effect. Reconnecting deeply with the natural world is a remedy. This takes effort, but if we want change, it cannot just be an individual strategy but must be a collective effort.
