Celebrating Heroes with Sport and Spirit
On a sunny Saturday, May 13th, the Heritage Ranch Pickleball Club hosted its Inaugural First Responders Appreciation Day. Sharon Sehon, a resident with deep familial ties to firefighting, conceived this event. She partnered with Friends of Fairview First Responders Association to make the day a tribute to first responders, combining her love for pickleball and respect for firefighters.
A Rally of Support
The event kicked off with an enthusiastic pickleball tournament where Heritage Ranch residents teamed up with members of the Fairview police, fire departments, and EMS. The synergy on the courts wasn’t about scoring points—it was about building relationships and appreciation between the residents and those who put their lives on the line daily.
More Than Just a Game
Following the tournament, the community spirit heated up with a silent and live auction, a raffle, and a heartfelt banquet dinner. The excitement in the air was palpable as attendees bid generously, knowing every dollar contributed to a noble cause. Final numbers are still being tallied, but so far, it appears they've surpassed all expectations with an estimated $44,000 raised. These funds are earmarked for crucial health screenings for our brave firefighters and police officers, helping ensure their health as they work to keep us safe.
