Observations from the fog of war! WHEN YOUR ENEMIES SAY THEY WANT TO WIPE YOU OFF THE FACE OF THE MAP — BELIEVE THEM!
Seriously, Stand with Israel.
We are in the midst of the fog of war as I write. But four things are clear to me. Please read, as this is important!
POINT ONE: In the weeks to come, don’t forget how this started: Terrorists Grabbing Jews from their Homes, murdering, raping, kidnapping, and torturing them.
Hundreds of young people were shot point-blank at an outdoor concert on October 6.
Our family planted roots in Israel from 2018 to 2022. This vibrant land became a cherished second home alongside America. Our tight-knit circle of friends, like family, still live there.
Hamas terrorists are pure evil. Hamas is raping, killing, and brutalizing hundreds of Grandparents, toddlers, and teenagers. Many hundreds of Israelis who survived were dragged across the border inside Gaza. Now, in Gaza as hostages. Will these innocent people be found and make it out alive? The news is grim.
POINT TWO: Reject All Moral Equivalence In this Massacre of Israel Civilians.
I have a hunch that many individuals within the United States and globally will engage in a dubious moral equivalence. They’ll suggest that although the situation concerning Israel is unfortunate, Israel's actions may somehow justify its victimization.
When today’s “terrorist attack” is in next week’s papers as a “militant incursion”, this is happening!
Dead Jewish babies have not yet been buried. A Rabbi sent this note tonight:
POINT THREE: When your enemies sense weakness, they pounce. Politicians are fomenting weakness and internal dissent for their self-interest.
Iran/Hamas hated a potential realignment of the Middle East with Saudi Arabia joining the Abrahman Accords. As a result, they wanted to disrupt a potential normalizing of Israel-Saudi Arabia ties. Or perhaps they saw Israel as weak and focused on protesting their government. Two things can be true at the same time. Iran saw the weakness, and proxy Hamas went for Israel’s jugular.
This was a large and well-funded attack, and Iran played a lead role.
WSJ: Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had praised the attacks, posting on X earlier this week that the cancer of the usurper Zionist regime will be eradicated at the hands of the Palestinian people and the Resistance forces throughout the region."
When citizens of one country are seriously divided, the social fabric is torn. Without any social continuity, things fall apart quickly. For months now, Israelis have been protesting every week. It’s made all the International papers. Israelis feel good about standing up against Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. I’ve been to those protests where 600,000 people peacefully sing and hold signs. But it’s gone on too long. It’s divided the Israeli nation. And Israeli enemies have quietly observed — plotted, and planned this attack.
Politicians worldwide are causing political unrest. The result is keeping citizens from being unified in their own country. In America — the left dislikes the right and vice versa. In Israel, it’s the pro-Bibi vs. anti-Bibi blocks.
As long as we are arguing with one another — we are not paying attention to the politicians who fundraise off the division and our foes who seek to annihilate us. We brush off when Iran says: “We will wipe Israel off the map.” Or “Death to America” as if they don’t mean it.
They do. Believe them.
After 9/11, America was unified. After October 7, 2023, will Israel be unified again?
Point Four: Be strong and vocal about your support for Israel in the weeks and months to come.
Don’t just post a picture of an Israeli flag for a week or two on your Instagram feed. Israel is the only country in the Middle East that shares America’s Democratic values. Stand up for it. Be loud. Things are going to get ugly and Israel needs all its friends lined up ready to help.
Chai (חי) is the Hebrew word for life.
