Disturbing The Water: The Supernatural World of Peter Wise

Disturbing The Water: The Supernatural World of Peter Wise

Join us as we explore the enigmatic world painted in the pages of "Disturbing the Water" by author, Peter Wise, as he takes us on an exhilarating journey through untamed and isolated landscapes, where anglers become entwined in a web of paranormal experiences, leaving them to question the very fabric of reality. With meticulous attention to detail, Wise crafts a collection of spine-chilling narratives that transcend the conventional horror genre.

"Disturbing the Water" is far from your typical ghost story compilation. Immerse yourself in a realm where Highland rivers, Irish loughs, North American wilderness, Cornish seascapes, and mystical Ukrainian water sources set the stage for a gripping exploration of human emotions, tragedy, redemption, and the inexplicable. These haunting tales are not just about the supernatural; they are a reflection of the human experience in the face of the unknown.

Brace yourself for encounters with the spectres of the English Civil War, the lingering shadows of the Second World War, and even the chilling presence of a Victorian serial killer. Through these historical echoes, the past converges with the present, unveiling a tapestry of suspense that will leave you spellbound.

My Special Guests is Peter Wise

Peter has been a professional copywriter all his working life and is also a passionate fisherman. Published at Halloween 2023, his book Disturbing the Water is a collection of original ghost stories, all themed around fish, fishing and fishy places. But it's not necessary to be an angler to appreciate these tales of tragedy, redemption and the unexpected.

The book was inspired by an episode on the History of Ghosts in The Rest is History podcast. There are echoes of real history in over half of the stories, from the Civil War to WW2, and from the Witch Craze to a Victorian serial killer.
