Haunted History Chronicles: An introduction

Podcast introduction

Hi everyone. I’m Michelle and welcome to this brand new podcast Haunted History Chronicles. If you are interested, like me, in the dark history and paranormal that often surrounds different locations I really hope you’re going to find something here of interest.

About me ( 0.19)

Personally for me the paranormal is something I’ve been interested in since I was a young child. I lived at one point in a rather old pub and it was a place where various different things would often happen. For example, my older sister who is very much a sceptic, would often wake in the night hearing cries and thinking that it was myself or my younger brother would come to check on us. Of course, we would both be sleeping. For myself, I’d often wake up at night feeling as if there was someone else with me close by and watching. The very first time I saw a woman standing at the foot of my bed looking down at me mournfully I can tell you I was terrified. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t speak and I couldn’t wake my younger brother who I shared the room with at the time. I would often see her and I’d often pick up on the sadness that surrounded her. My paranormal interest really grew from that moment and as an adult when I wasn’t busy teaching or with the rest of the things going on in my life you’d often find me exploring different locations around the United Kingdom on different ghost hunts.

My other big passion is history. I just love old buildings and I love exploring them. I will admit that this has often meant that I’ve had to endure some pretty old and winding staircases and as someone who is terrified of heights this has definitely added the spook factor for me.

Conclusion (2.03)

History and the paranormal often go hand in hand because to really understand what’s gone on we have to dive deep into the location itself, to the people that have lived there and to what’s happened. And that’s what I really hope this podcast is going to be a place for us to do just that- dive deep- explore the stories, the paranormal stories, the history, the people that have been there, what’s happened and to really understand and appreciate the building, the history of what’s gone on there and the paranormal activity that surrounds it. To learn about it, to find out more. Sometimes I’ll be sharing my own personal firsthand experiences and sometimes I might be sharing the experiences of others. Hopefully, some of you might be contributing to that and it would be great to have suggestions of different places that you’d like me to explore. Or, if you want to share some of these things for yourself then I’d love to hear from you. If you’re brave enough maybe you will even come on a future episode. For now though I just want to say thank you so much for listening. I really hope you come along on this exciting new adventure with me. Thank you and see you next time. Bye everyone.
