Magnum P.I. was cancelled by CBS in 2022. NBC picked up the series for at least 2 additional seasons.
In the original TV series, there is no mention of Magnum saving Robin Masters' life in Vietnam. In fact, the premise of the show is that Magnum works as head of security on the estate, and he spends every opportunity trying to discover Robin's true identity, and trying to confirm one of his beliefs that Higgins and Robin are the same person.
Actress Amy Hill who plays "Kumu" is of Finnish (father) and Japanese (mother) heritage.
Hill has hazel colored eyes and she wears brown contact lenses to "appear" more Asian for her parts.
"Kumu" is Hawaii'ain for elder or master.
At 40, Jay Hernandez was older than Tom Selleck when he first portrayed Thomas Magnum (35 years old). The character is supposed to be in his early 30's in both series.
In the original series, Higgins is a man, played by John Hillerman. In this show, Higgins is a woman played by British actress Perdita Weeks.
