IDP Hidden Gems: Jordan Fuller

IDP Hidden Gems: Jordan Fuller

When it comes to drafting the safety position, I’m waiting for the later rounds so I can load up on linebackers and a pass-rushing stud or two. By the time I decide to draft a safety, all top guys are gone and I’m left to dig through the remains. One particular guy has me intrigued in the later rounds and that's Jordan Fuller of the Los Angeles Rams. Taylor Rapp (Buffalo) and Nick Scott (Cincinnati) left this offseason in free agency leaving Fuller as the only viable option at safety. Fuller is also in a contract year and I do love getting players late in drafts that are financially motivated to prove their worth.

The most significant risk in drafting Jordan Fuller is obviously his health. Missing 21 of 54 games in his first 3 years in the league has many managers looking elsewhere on draft day. So what's the appeal? For me, it's getting a guy going around safety 45 that when healthy, can actually be a top 20 guy at the position. In 2021 he posted 113 tackles (63 solo) while playing over 1,000 snaps across 16 starts.

I know we are still in padless football season at the moment, but all initial reports on Fuller look very promising. Finally healthy after a lost 2022 season, and possibly wearing the green dot again to lead a rebuilt Rams defense. Fuller has the ability to put up solid fantasy numbers. If he can just have the availability to do it all season, then he can be the hidden gem your team needs to win a championship.
