In this week's edition of the IDP Stock Market, I give you three rising stocks that you need to be adding to your IDP portfolios.
Rashad Weaver, DE, Titans
The Titans lost defensive end, Harold Landry, just before the start of the season and then lost defensive end Da’Shawn Hand in week one. With what was an already thin position group, these injuries didn’t help. This also forced 2nd-year defensive end, Rashad Weaver, into a larger role much quicker than expected. In week one versus the New York Giants, he had to step in quickly when Hand went down and played very well. Weaver played 29 snaps (48%) while recording four total tackles, three being solos, two TFLs, two sacks, and two QB hits. A super efficient game from Weaver and it will be interesting to see if he will continue to get more reps or maybe become a starter. Tennessee travels to Buffalo for a Monday night matchup so this week might not be the best to start Weaver, but I would grab him now for the rest of the season.
Darrick Forest, S, Commanders
The Commander's star safety Kamren Curl is still dealing with a thumb injury from the preseason and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game versus the Detroit Lions. When you wake up tomorrow and set lineups, if you see Curl is out, I would suggest starting Forest. Curl was out last week versus the Jaguars and Forest was given the start and did an extremely good job. He played 67 defensive snaps (96%) and had a big game in his first career start. On the day he recorded five tackles, with four being solos, while adding a forced fumble, one interception, and two PBUs. If Curl is out, then Forest should once again earn the start and has a favorable matchup versus the Lions. Check your waiver wire and get him in your starting lineups for week two.
Malik Reed, WLB, Steelers
We all know about the unfortunate injury (torn pectoral muscle) suffered by superstar TJ Watt during last week's game versus Cincinnati. It appears that Watt will possibly miss just a few weeks, but in the meantime, it’s newcomer Malik Reed that you want to go add off waivers. He’s listed as the starter for this week versus the Patriots. The Steelers traded for Reed from the Broncos to upgrade their depth and now that move looks even bigger with Watt out. Reed brings with him 15 career sacks, which includes a personal best of eight in 2020. This is just a band-aid fix until Watt returns, but it’s a solid add if you’re already having injury issues on your fantasy teams.
