What is a professional association? (with Sahra O'Doherty and Carly Dober)

Sahra has been a registered Psychologist for nearly 10 years, and is co-owner of Mindscape Psychology. She has a background in disability services, and developed her interest in providing holistic support for clients and their families during this time. Sahra then moved into working in youth mental health and early intervention, supporting adolescents and young adults to navigate the challenges in their lives, relationships, and circumstances.

Outside of Mindscape, Sahra is a Director on the Board of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi), the peak not-for-profit membership association for Psychologists in Australia, fighting for equality and diversity within the Psychology profession. Sahra is also on the editorial committee of the Activist Practitioner magazine; a quarterly publication aimed at mental health professionals, and dedicated to social justice.

Carly is a psychologist at Enriching Lives Psychologist with a particular interest in the issues that affect the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young women. She is also a Director at the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi). Carly has experience in guiding individuals to understand themselves, their experiences, and their social context, in order to reach a place of greater self-acceptance and increased wellbeing. Carly is passionate about preventative mental health care, acknowledging the multitude of systemic and social actors that may get in the way of our optimal wellbeing.
